No one likes to look dumb, at the same time, no prepper began at a know it all note, every day, we learn and we will continue to learn. It’s therefore very important to check out these prepper mistakes that can ultimately make you look dumb. Remember that some mistakes will not only make you look dumb, they might as well cost your life.

Prepping with fear

Prepping out of fear will see you cut all corners that can help you to be smart with your money. We certainly don’t have a lot of cash laying around, we thus that to stretch the little we have as far as we can, the world is not ending tomorrow, convince yourself, sit and strategies, be smart and stop prepping out of fear. You might regret it once your head gets cleared.

Having inadequate Water

It has never been glamorous to stock up water, but remember that your life solely depends on this resource. This is definitely the dumbest mistake that’s practiced by preppers and is also the deadliest mistake ever. Make sure before you prep you have sufficient and adequate supplies of not only clean but adequate and quality water. Unlike buying of ammo, gears and guns, water might be very tedious and can require more space but it’s a primary thing if you want to prep smartly. Make it prime in your first list of priorities.

Gear

Avoid putting over emphasize on gear, rationalize the kind of gear that you are going to buy. Putting too much focus on this also derives you one essential focus that you should be focusing on, having the know how or knowledge. Old timers just like newbies frequently tend to put obsessive emphasis on gear. Over dependent on stockpiling gear can actually hinder your ability to endure without it. There is no magic piece in the kind of gear you have, what can improve your chances of surviving against all odds is having the old fashioned knowledge and training, it will definitely go a long way to see you overcome disasters after disasters.

Lack of knowledge as well as technical know how

Knowledge is the ultimate key to survival, you thus have to try all odds and get the required knowledge if you are to be a good prepper. Lack of knowledge will definitely make you look dumb, you can have all the survival gears but lacking the skills to use the gear makes the whole idea to be worthless. True preparedness is learning how to survive without your gear, once you become an elite in this field, you can then proceed to consider the type of gear you should buy. Know how should also equip you on the right kind of food that you need to pile up in your shipping container (like these) as you prep. If you are used to eating one type of food, let’s say, rice and beans, it will be useless and a waste of time and resources stocking up strange foods that you have never tried. Sticks to your routine, emergency times are surely not the ideal moments of experimenting on the right foods that will get along well with your body. In fact some might react and kill you. If disaster strikes you surely don’t want to get stuck feeding on some foods you hate, be wise.

Dependency on Ammo and Guns

As a prepper, you should never to be too reliant on use of guns and ammo for survival. Guns may be truly one of the most important item that you may have but relying on your ammo and guns to survive might be the last mistake that you will ever do in your life. People tend to perceive that guns and ammo's can bring you real food on the table but the reality is you may die finding the food. Disasters change and the kind of disaster you are preparing for might not necessarily be the disaster that will happen, therefore, prepare fully. Like we said, knowledge and training are the key survival tactics.

While the world may seem to be filled with charming and decent people, in crisis situations, these good people can become unpredictable. Be wise, have the knowledge you will be smarter as you will avoid prepper mistakes that can make you look dumb.
