It would provide trendy housing for college students as well as graduates, which might prompt them to stay in Great Bend instead of moving off to a big city. If the price was right. Cost of living adjustments need to be promoted as well. I know of a family member who moved to the big city lured by high wages, but didn't realize the cost of living there made him actually earn LESS than he did here. Moved his whole family there and everything before he realized it. Now he's stuck with a $900/mo rent payment on a tiny little house on the edge of town, and very little money left at the end of the month for much of anything. They can barely afford internet service, let alone take advantage of any of the big city amenities.

Rural Kansas is an ideal place to live, raise a family, and just be part of a community that cares. We have an opportunity to improve the quality of life of people if we provide suitable housing for those who want a single lifestyle yet in a rural community.
